P. Jayachandran, a veteran singer who recorded more than 16,000 songs in multiple languages, is no more. He died in Thrissur after undergoing treatment for cancer. He was 80.
Jayachandran was very popular in his native Malayalam film industry, but he also crooned many songs in Tamil and Telugu. MS Vishwanathan, Ramesh Naidu, Ilayaraja, AR Rahman, Koti, and Vandemataram Srinivas made him sing songs in Telugu.
Vaddhura Niddhara” (Two Town Rowdy), “Rojave Chinni” (Suryvamsam), “Anaganaga Aakasam” (Nuvve Kavali), etc. were some of his most popular Telugu songs.
Jayachandran also appeared in some films as an actor.
