Oscar-award composer AR Rahman has, for the first time, composed and produced a Telangana song. The song “Allipoola Vennela” is a tribute to the popular Telangana Bhatukamma festival. Instead of using a more popular Telangana folk number, Rahman has come up with his style of composition.
He has given an altogether different touch to traditional Bathukamma songs.
Popular Tamil movie director Gautam Menon has directed the video. The video song features colorful visuals. MLC Kavitha’s Telangana Jagruthi Foundation is presenting the song, which is out now.
Sung by Uthara Unnikrishnan, penned by Mittapalli Surender, the song was choreographed by National Award winner Brinda.
Bathukamma festival is an integral part of Telangana and it identifies with the cultural identity of the people from the state across the globe. Ms.Kavitha played an important role in making it popular in the last decade.
AR Rahman wished the people of Telangana a happy Bathukamma festival.
