
Nandamuri Balakrishna hoped that the Indian government would soon announce Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, for his father, famed actor-politician NT Rama Rao. He sounded sure that the announcement would come soon.
For the last 25 years, there has been significant demand for the Bharat Ratna awarded to NT Rama Rao posthumously. The Indian government just announced Padma Bhushan award to Nandamuri Balakrishna. So, the actor went to Nimmakuru, NT Rama Rao’s native village, and garlanded the statues of his parents there. The villagers received Balakrishna warmly.
Speaking on the occasion, the ‘Akhanda 2’ star said the dream of every NT Rama Rao fan will soon materialize.
NT Rama Rao, an actor, director, producer, and writer, made huge contributions to the growth of the Telugu film industry and is regarded as one of its most main pillars. He also served as Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister for seven years, spanning four terms.
He starred in almost 300 films and was known as “Viswa Vikhyatha Nata Sarvabhouma”.
