Nandamuri Kalyan Ram starrer “Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi” and Tamannaah’s “Odela 2” hit theaters last weekend amidst positive buzz and strong promotional efforts. In fact, Tamannaah Bhatia went all out to promote the film in both Telugu and Hindi, and the film was released on Thursday, a day before Kalyan Ram’s movie.
However, Tamannaah’s “Odela 2” could not make any impact at the box office. The film received mostly negative reviews, especially for its unconvincing blend of spiritual elements into a supernatural thriller. Though the makers claimed that the film recovered its investment from non-theatrical deals, the theatrical business, however, remained average throughout the weekend.

On the other hand, “Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi,” due to Kalyan Ram’s movie and Vijayashanthi’s presence, took better openings and sustained the same momentum the next day, but it didn’t get the required big jump on Sunday. As a result, the film had only a modest performance at the box office.
Kalyan Ram’s films generally work at the theaters if they carry a novelty factor. In this film, the last 20 minutes are the only best part.
