Can Prabhas Beat Pawan Kalyan’s record?

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer ‘Radhe Shyam’ gets premiered tomorrow in the USA. The film’s pre-sales are terrific. The overseas distributor expects it to garner a $1 million gross from premiere shows in the USA.

Recently, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ grossed $875k dollars from premiere shows, a record amount for a Telugu film in the post-pandemic period. ‘Bheemla Nayak’ was a remake movie. The Malayalam original is one of the most widely watched movies on the OTT platforms. Still, Pawan Kalyan has managed to bring in a strong opening in the USA.

So, given his huge popularity globally, Prabhas’s ‘Radhe Shyam’ should get a $1 million-plus opening in the USA. Unlike ‘Bheemla Nayak’, Prabhas starrer love story is also being released in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.

As the trend of pre-sales is any indication, ‘Radhe Shyam’ might cross the collections of ‘Bheemla Nayak’ on the premiere day. But it remains to be seen whether it would collect more than the $1 million mark. Prabhas’s previous film, Saaho, collected $900k from premiere shows.

On the other hand, ‘Bheemla Nayak’ after amassing massive premiere numbers could not continue the same momentum. It ended up its final run with $2.4 million.
