Megastar Chiranjeevi made some stunning remarks. Hurt by the recent developments, Chiranjeevi has decided not to be the ‘industry Peddha’ (a father figure) in the Telugu film industry.
Chiranjeevi’s Charitable Trust, in association with Yodha diagnostic, has issued health cards for diagnostic services to the cine workers. On this occasion, some workers urged him to be the industry ‘Peddha’.
“I don’t want to be a guardian for the industry. I don’t need that tag. I will serve the workers and others as the son of this industry. I will be there for the needy. But if two bodies of the industry or persons quarrel or need a settlement, I will not involve in that. I will stand for the workers if they face any financial hurdles or health issues,” he said.
Dasari Narayana Rao served the industry as the ‘Peddha’ for many years. After his demise, the Telugu film industry posed faith in Chiranjeevi and began treating him ‘industry Peddha’. Telangana government also honored him in the same manner. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, also invited Chiranjeevi to his residence and felicitated him as the true representative of the Telugu film industry.
However, the recent MAA elections and Ticket price issues have widened the gap between Chiranjeevi and the Andhra Pradesh government. Chiranjeevi was also hurt by some of his colleagues in the industry.
