CM Revanth Reddy says Keeravani’s section was not his choice

MM Keeravani and Revanth Reddy

The newly elected Telangana government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is working to alter everything that the previous Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had done. The new government also declared Andhe Sri’s poem “Jaya Jayahe Telangana” as the state anthem.

As Telangana’s formation day approaches, the government recently commissioned Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani to compose the song written by Andhe Sri, which he recorded recently.

A photo of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy supervising the composition of MM Keeravani was recently released. However, true Telanganaites have criticised Keeravani’s selection as the music composer for Telangana’s state anthem, despite the fact that scores of Telangana musicians and singers were present to compose it.

Andhe Sri claimed that no one in Telangana could compete with MM Keeravani’s talent, which irritated Telanganaites even more. Seeing the negative comments on social media, CM Revanth Reddy stated that it was Andhe Sri’s decision, not his.

It is important to remember that folk songs and songs of poets and singers who participated in the agitation for a separate state of Telangana helped to unite the people behind the cause. People’s songs played important role in Telangana struggle rather than movie songs.
