Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has carved a niche for himself with his gritty storytelling and intense action sequences. Known for delivering back-to-back blockbusters, he enjoys a 100% success rate and has built a massive fan following for his signature style, particularly his stylized portrayal of violence.
Currently, Lokesh is helming “Coolie,” starring none other than Superstar Rajinikanth.
While working with other actors is one thing, directing Rajinikanth comes with its own unique challenges. Given Rajinikanth’s massive appeal across age groups, many wondered whether Lokesh would tone down the violence in this film to suit the star’s image.
Addressing this in a recent interview, Lokesh clarified: “No, the violence is intact. But the way I’ve presented it will be different.”
“Coolie” promises to be a multi-starrer extravaganza, also featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Aamir Khan in key roles.
With Lokesh’s signature action and Rajinikanth’s mass appeal, “Coolie” is shaping up to be a high-octane entertainer that balances style, substance, and star power.
