Day 1: Despite ‘talk’, ‘Game Changer’ takes a decent start

Game Changer

The film ‘Game Changer,’ starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, has received mixed word-of-mouth and reviews on the first day. When the film opened with 4 AM shows in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, it received mostly negative talk. But in the course of the day, the film’s reaction was settled to ‘mixed’ – not outright negative.

Due to Shankar’s lackluster form in the recent past, especially after the result of the biggest flop of his career, “Indian 2,” the film didn’t enthuse the general public much. Hence, despite having huge stardom, Ram Charan could not pull massive openings.

The film received a decent amount in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on its first day. We are awaiting the final gross figure for the Telugu version in the Telugu states. In North America, the film went past the $1 million mark on Day 1. The Hindi version collected Rs 7 Cr (net) in India.

Overall, this is not the “best revenue” one expects for a Ram Charan starrer. Still, the overall opening is a decent one.

Will see a jump on the 13th or 14th in Andhra

Generally, during the Sankranti period, films don’t perform strongly in Telangana. In Andhra, the collections will be huge from 13th January to 17th January during the actual festival period. So, Game Changer’s real potential will come out in the next two days.

Ram Charan’s portrayal of the character “Appanna” received wide appreciation. Even megastar Chiranjeevi was satisfied with the response to Charan’s acting.

Dil Raju’s production “Game Changer” stars Kiara Advani and Anjali in the female lead roles.

Production house’s statement

On the other hand, the production house published a poster declaring the first-day worldwide collections as Rs 186 Cr.
