Rishab Shetty’s “Kantara: Chapter 1” has landed in controversy over discrepancies in online ticket bookings. The trends on BookMyShow and the reported overall gross are vastly different, prompting many trade analysts to take to social media and suggest something is fishy about the numbers.
Except for Karnataka, the film saw a dip in collections across all regions on the second day. Thanks to the Dasara holiday and festive mood, “Kantara: Chapter 1” opened with massive collections on Day 1. However, audience reactions have been mixed. While some filmmakers have been praising the film heavily on social media, general viewers appear divided.
As a result, there has been no growth in collections outside Karnataka. The Telugu version held steady on Day 2, while the Hindi version showed no improvement at all.
Overall, the film has collected a gross of Rs 100 crore worldwide in two days.
