Sekhar Kammula’s “Kuberaa” is holding steady at the box office. On its second day, the film registered better collections than its opening day in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
While “Kuberaa” earned positive reviews, word-of-mouth has been mixed. Despite this, the film’s momentum has remained strong. The Tamil version also showed improvement on day two, though the Telugu version continues to lead.
The film has now raked in Rs 30 crore nett across all versions in India. This is a solid figure for a Dhanush starrer. With strong bookings, it is projected to add another Rs 16–18 crore nett today, setting the stage for a robust opening weekend.
Overseas, especially in the USA, “Kuberaa” is performing impressively. It has already crossed the $1 million mark and is on track to hit $1.8 million by the end of the weekend. Sekhar Kammula’s films traditionally fare well in the US market, and “Kuberaa” is following suit.
Interestingly, unlike most of Kammula’s earlier films, “Kuberaa” doesn’t have viral songs. Yet, its overseas success proves the film’s reach and appeal.
