A year after its theatrical debut, “Devara: Part 1” has crossed a major milestone, and the sequel is now officially in motion.
The Koratala Siva directorial, which hit cinemas on September 27, 2024, starred NTR in dual roles alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Made on a massive budget of Rs 300 crore, the film went on to collect Rs 500 crore worldwide, despite drawing mixed reviews from critics.
On the occasion of the film’s first anniversary (September 27, 2025), production houses NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts released special commemorative posters on X, celebrating the journey and confirming the much-awaited Devara: Part 2.
The sequel will once again feature NTR in both roles, and the makers are reportedly targeting a 2027–2028 release window.
Music by Anirudh Ravichander played a huge role in the film’s popularity, with songs like “Chuttamalle” and “Ayudha Pooja” keeping the buzz alive long after the theatrical run. Interestingly, satellite rights for both the Telugu and Hindi versions are still on the market, adding to the industry curiosity around the franchise.
Meanwhile, NTR is currently shooting a film directed by Prashanth Neel, which is being planned for a June 2026 release. As of now, there is no clarity on when Devara 2 will go on floors.
