‘Forgot to say cut’: Sampath Nandi on Sharwanand’s acting in Bhogi

Director Sampath Nandi is currently busy wrapping up “Bhogi,” a period drama starring Sharwanand in the lead role. The film is in the final stages of production, and the director recently shared an emotional experience from the ongoing shooting schedule.

According to Sampath Nandi, he witnessed one of the finest performances of Sharwanand’s career while filming a key emotional sequence. The director was so moved by the actor’s performance that he momentarily forgot to call “cut.”

Taking to social media, Sampath Nandi expressed his admiration for Sharwanand’s work.

“For the past 24 hours, I’ve been trying to control myself and my emotions but can’t anymore. I have witnessed one of the best emotional and never-before performances of my dearest Sharwanand garu in the past one decade. I didn’t realize… totally forgot to say CUT. Myself and the entire unit of 200-plus people started clapping and wiping their moist eyes.

This happens very rarely, and I’ve experienced something like this for the very first time in my career. Trust me and remember these words. You will also experience the same when you watch BHOGI in theatres.”

“Bhogi” features Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi as the female leads.

Set against the backdrop of the Maharashtra-Telangana border during the late 1970s, the film promises to blend period drama with intense emotions. The project is being produced by K.K. Radhamohan and is targeting an August 2026 theatrical release.
