Speculation surrounding “Devara 2” had been fueled by NTR’s packed 2025 lineup. NTR is currently working on “War 2” alongside Hrithik Roshan, and a Prashanth Neel-directed period drama, tentatively titled Dragon, is in production with NTR expected to join the sets later this month.
However, NTR has now put the rumors to rest by confirming that the sequel remains firmly on track for a 2026 production start.
“We’re recalibrating and re-energizing to deliver something massive,” NTR teased during a fan interaction in Tokyo, hinting at “bloodier action” and “more dynamic” character arcs for returning stars like Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
With “Devara: Part 2” officially in motion, speculation may finally come to an end about NTR’s next projects.
Directed by Koratala Siva, the first installment of “Devara” hit theaters last year, with a Japanese version released on March 28, 2025. The upcoming sequel will delve deeper into the character of Vara, as NTR plays a dual role as both Devara and Vara.
