Producer Dil Raju says he is attempting to emulate Hollywood’s practise of holding early premieres for a select audience and critics.
“In Hollywood, studios prepare their final copy and then begin previewing for a select group of audiences. They are unconcerned about talk leaking. I want to do the same thing here,” he explained.
Dil Raju has begun holding preview screenings of “Shaakuntalam” for select audiences. On April 12th, he will also hold a premiere show for critics. The film, which stars Samantha as the titular character, will be released in theatres on April 14th.
He also stated that he will bear the consequences. He gained confidence following the success of “Balagam,” which was screened for critics and film industry personnel for several days prior to its theatrical release.
‘Shaakuntalam,’ directed by Gunasekhar, is a mythological fantasy film.
