Prabhas is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema. Irrespective of hits and flops, his films do massive business, and even his flop films bring in hundreds of crores of revenue.
Besides the domestic Indian market, Prabhas has also successfully created a massive market for his movies in North America. He is the only Indian movie star to have two movies that grossed more than $18 million in North America. Furthermore, the combined revenue from his last two films in North America has exceeded $27 million.
“Salaar” grossed just short of 9 million dollars, while “Kalki 2898 AD” grossed $18.5 million. Given this fact, overseas distributors are eager to acquire his upcoming films at unprecedented prices. More than his next release, “The Raja Saab,” distributors are offering record quotations for his other films, such as “Fauji,” directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, and “Spirit,” directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Sources inform us that these films are getting proposals in the range of Rs 80 crore for the overseas rights, while the producers are expecting more than Rs 100 crores.
If these deals strike, it will be a new record for an Indian star.
