This Sankranthi festival will feature three films: Game Changer, Daaku Maharaaj, and Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The first film, Game Changer, opens on January 10th.
This is the first time in recent history that no dubbed film from the Tamil film industry will compete. Furthermore, no additional films were announced for Republic Day or the rest of the month.
There will be no movies in theaters till Naga Chaitanya’s “Thandel” arrives, with the exception of a small-budgeted film titled “Gandhi Thatha Chettu” (January 24).

Even in February, only three major films will arrive theaters. Films such as Nithiin’s “Robinhood” have yet to declare their release dates. The following wave of major films, including “Hari Hara Veera Mallu,” “The Raja Saab,” “Retro,” “Hit 3,” and “Gaati,” will not be released until the summer of 2025.
