“Godari Gattupaina,” starring Sumanth Prabhas and Nidhi Pradeep, is gearing up for release on May 8, 2026. Director Subash Chandra describes the film as a rooted and relatable emotional drama told in a unique triangular format.
Speaking about the film’s core idea, Subash Chandra said the story reflects everyday relationships. “Godari Gattupaina is a story we’ve seen in our lives. Every home has a father and daughter, and there is love between them. At the same time, there is love between two lovers. I’ve presented these emotions in a triangular narrative. It’s a film that will connect with everyone,” he explained.
The director also revealed that Jagapathi Babu’s role draws inspiration from a real-life figure. “Jagapathi Babu’s character is inspired by my uncle, and even the vehicle used in the film belongs to him,” Subash shared, adding a personal touch to the storytelling.
Elaborating on the emotional balance, he said, “Every father wants a better life for his daughter. At the same time, a young man’s love is equally genuine. We tried to portray this balance with honesty.”
Subash emphasized that while the theme of love remains constant across generations, the film treats it with maturity and sensitivity. He also acknowledged the support of senior actors like Laila and Rajeev Kanakala, who believed in the script and contributed significantly to the project.
He also credited producers Sunil Narang and Janhvi Narang for backing the project and recommending Sumanth Prabhas for the lead role. “He loved the story instantly. He plays a Godavari boy and worked hard to get the dialect right. I’m grateful for his support during promotions as well,” he added.
