Hrithik Roshan has sparked controversy with his take on the latest Bollywood blockbuster “Dhurandhar.” The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, is enjoying a dream run at the box office, with collections in India nearing Rs 200 crore within the first week.
While congratulating the team on delivering a compelling film, Hrithik also stirred debate by commenting on the film’s political angle.
In his Instagram post, he praised director Aditya Dhar’s storytelling and the performances, but added that he did not fully agree with the film’s politics.
This immediately triggered backlash, with BJP supporters and right-wing groups trolling him heavily on social media. They accused him of hypocrisy, pointing out that he had no issue portraying Pakistan negatively in his own spy films, but seemed uncomfortable when another film highlighted Pakistan’s terror activities.

Feeling the heat, Hrithik posted again today on X.com, this time praising “Dhurandhar” wholeheartedly and saying he is still impacted by the film. It appears to be his attempt to step away from the controversy, focus on the film’s success, and avoid further political interpretation.
