I am exploring a wide range of genres: Karthi

Karthi and Rashmika Mandanna starrer ‘Sulthan’ is hitting the screens on April 2nd. Karthi says he liked the basic premise of Sulthan instantly when the director narrated him and agreed to do the film right away.

‘Sulthan’ will connect with all kinds of audiences, he says.

After witnessing a series of flops, Karthi has made a comeback with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Khaidi’. The film was a critical and commercial success. What has made him accept a commercial entertainer like ‘Sulthan’ after appearing in an off-beat and realistic movie like ‘Khaidi’?

“I like to explore all genres. Khaidi was a different action thriller. Sulthan is a masala entertainer. Mani Ratnam sir’s Ponniyan Selvan is an epic drama that gives a unique experience to the audience. Each film is different from the other. I don’t want to do the same thing,” he said, explaining his choice of stories.

‘Sultan’ is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan.
