Thalapathy Vijay, the biggest star in Tamil film industry, has lately been created a market for his films in Telugu states. His most recent films like “Adirindi,” “Whistle,” and “Master” have been successful in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, his films have not been as successful in the Telugu market as those of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
In ‘Vaarasudu,’ Vijay is teamed with Dil Raju as producer and Vamshi Paidipally as director in an effort to break into the Telugu film market. Plus, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna and the music is by Thaman. The main cast and crew is from Tollywood.
But the film is essentially a Tamil film dubbed into Telugu. Director Vamshi Paidipally even openly admitted it is a ‘proper Tamil paadam’. No wonder that ‘Vaarasudu’ is lacking hype in the Telugu so far.
Dil Raju, the film’s producer, has blocked out as many theatres as possible despite the lack of hype. On the other hand, two Telugu biggies, Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya, are opening in theatres for the festival. All three films need theaters for grand openings. This is the reason why the controversy erupted.
In spite of the efforts of the Telugu film industry, “Vaarasudu” will be released. But all their attempt is to squeeze more theatres for ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ and ‘Waltair Veerayya’.
