“Dune: Part One” and “Dune Part: Two” are the most successful science fiction films made in Hollywood in recent years. Denis Villeneuve directed both of those films, with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in the main roles. The sequel to “Dune”, released in March 2024, achieved a worldwide box office gross of 700 million, solidifying its position as one of the biggest hits of the year.

There are now comments suggesting that the movie “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas, may be a replica of the film “Dune.” Particularly, when the “Kalki 2898 AD” team revealed a new poster last weekend, declaring the release date as June 27, film lovers promptly noticed the striking resemblance between the poster and those of “Dune”.

However, Nag Ashwin, the director of “Kalki 2898 AD”, has dismissed the speculations.

He stated that it is an original work and not a copy of any Hollywood movie.

Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan are the principal cast members. Rumors suggest that Kamal Haasan’s character will have a more prominent presence in the second installment.
