Kalpana to police: This is not a suicide attempt

Singer Kalpana Raghavendar, who was admitted to the hospital following an overdose of sleeping drugs, told police that it was not an attempt at suicide. Reports indicate that, due to insomnia and stress stemming from a conflict with her daughter, she inadvertently ingested 18 tablets.

Kalpana informed the police that she had a dispute with her daughter. The discord between Kalpana and her daughter Divya emerged when Divya declined to relocate to Hyderabad for her education.

Due to stress, she ingested an excessive quantity of sleeping medications, resulting in unconsciousness. This was the sum of Kalpana’s statement to the police.

Kalpana is still under medical care at Sri Sri Holistic Hospital in Nizampet, Hyderabad.
