Kamal Haasan loses in a nail-biting contest

Legendary actor Kamal Haasan, who founded the MNM party, was defeated by BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan from the Coimbatore South assembly constituency in a closely contested battle.

Vanathi Srinivasan won the seat by a slender margin of 1500 votes.

Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party contested 154 seats in the Tamilnadu assembly polls. His party drew a blank.

Kamal Haasan is a veteran actor of 232 movies, with 50 years of experience in the movie industry. The veteran actor wanted to bring a change in politics but has failed to win any seat in Tamilnadu. In Tamilnadu, MK Stalin-led DMK stormed to power.
