Prime Video has officially announced the streaming debut date for “Kantara: Chapter 1.” The film will premiere on the platform on October 31.
Prime Video will stream the film in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, while the streaming date for the Hindi version has not yet been announced.
The film was released in theaters on October 2, and it will make its digital debut exactly 28 days after its theatrical release. Prime Video reportedly acquired the South Indian language rights for a record price.
“Kantara: Chapter 1,” a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, stars Rishab Shetty and Rukmini Vasanth. Rishab Shetty also directed the film in addition to playing the lead role. The film has already grossed nearly Rs 800 crore worldwide.
With its OTT debut approaching, the chances of it reaching the Rs 1000 crore mark appear slim.
