“If Lavanya Tripathi has chosen to do a film, it means its story must be good,” Naga Chaitanya recently said while promoting ‘Yuddham Sharanam’. The facts remain something else.
Besides ‘YS’ being a dud, her previous two films flopped too. If ‘Mister’ was a disaster, ‘Radha’ was a below average grosser. Barring the respite provided by ‘Srirastu Subhamastu’, she had had an incredible calamity called ‘Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi’. And a Telugu project which was almost hers missed her in the last minute. It’s the Vijay Devarakonda-Parusuram film, which was allegedly gone due to misunderstanding.
‘Vunnadi Okate Zindagi’ is now crucial for her. The Ram Pothineni-starrer, which might release shortly, is being directed by Kishore Tirumala of ‘Nenu Sailaja’ fame. But unlike ‘SS’, ‘Radha’ and ‘YS’, ‘VOZ’ is not a sole card for her. Anupama Parameswaran, who is in full form, also shares screen space with her. Yet, this film should become a hit if she wants to have long career in Tollywood.
