Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart take charge of advance bookings

This Independence Day promises to be a massive box office battle. The Telugu film box office will witness the release of two prominent films, Mr. Bachchan and Double iSmart, along with a small-budget film, “Aay”.

These films will also face competition from dubbed movies like Vikram’s “Thangalan,” Bollywood’s “Stree 2,” “Vedaa,” and “Khel Khel Mein.” But both “Mr. Bachchan” and “Double iSmart” dominate in Telugu states with impressive advance bookings.

While “Mr. Bachchan” has a slight edge over “Double iSmart,”  both movies have seen Rs 2 crore in collections from advance bookings a day before the release. The trend is upward. Therefore, both films are expected to have strong openings in the Telugu states.

Harish Shankar directs “Mr. Bachchan,” which stars Ravi Teja and newcomer Bhagyashri Borse as the lead pair. The film is a remake of the Hindi movie “Raid”.

Puri Jagannadh directs “Double iSmart,” which stars Ram Pothineni and Kavya Thapar. It is the sequel to the blockbuster “iSmart Shankar”.
