Prabhas and Nag Ashwin have teamed up for a science fiction thriller. The film was announced with much fanfare last year. It was to begin the shoot by now. But Prabhas had signed up ‘Salaar’ and ‘Adipurush’ pushing Nag Ashwin’s film shoot to later this year.
The untitled sci-fi thriller that also features Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan is not an extension of what Nag Ashwin directed in Netflix’s ‘Pitta Kathalu’. The Netflix anthology has four stories directed by different filmmakers. Nag Ashwin has directed ‘xLife’, a sci-fi movie dealing with virtual reality and data controlling. Since the release of ‘Pitta Kathalu’, social media is abuzz that Prabhas’s film is nothing but a full-fledged version of ‘xLife’. The story of ‘Pitta Kathalu’ didn’t go well with those who have watched it. It was underwhelming and weird, they opined.
However, Nag Ashwin has slammed these reports. Both the stories different, he mentioned.
Nag Ashwin has already locked the bound script. The pre-production work is underway. Veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao is helping him with the script.
The sci-fi thriller is expected to start rolling from July/August.
