It’s heartbreaking news for fans of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha. Putting an end to media speculations, actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha announced their separation in a joint statement today (October 2). They are filing for divorce. The couple has been married for four years.
Describing it as their mutual decision, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha said they would remain friends.
Naga Chaitanya’s statement read, “After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths.”
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha have not stated any specific reasons for seeking a divorce.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha met each other on the sets of their first movie together, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) directed by Gautham Menon. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha fell in love during the shoot of their second movie, Manam (2014). After three years of dating, they got married on October 7, 2017. Their Goa destination wedding was talked about for many months, and several Tollywood celebrities followed the destination wedding thereafter.
The couple had acted together in ‘Majili’ after their wedding. They were a much-loved couple on screen and off the screen.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have reportedly started facing problems in their marital life from early this year. Rumors about their separation popped up three months ago. Removing ‘Akkineni’ surname from her social media handles has confirmed that they are heading for divorce.
