Like Ravi Teja, Nani does two or three films a year and loves to keep multiple projects on sets at a time. He is the only Telugu star who had four releases (two on direct-OTT and two in theaters) in the last two years.
But he is worried about his theatrical market. His last two theatrical releases – Shyam Singha Roy and Ante Sundaraniki – underperformed, with the former turning average grosser and the latter becoming a flop. His priority has now become to put his theatrical market on track.
Currently, he is working on ‘Dasara’, an intense drama set against Singareni coal mines. He is giving everything to it. His sole focus is on this film. He has not announced another film yet. Touted to be the costliest project in his career, the makers have already got offers for more than Rs 40 crore from the non-theatrical avenue. But Nani needs the theatrical business. So, he is focussing on that.
‘Dasara’ is being directed by newcomer Srikanth Odela. The film resumed shooting recently. Keerthy Suresh is paired with Nani.
This film will decide Nani’s theatrical market.
