“Nagabandham” has grossed nearly Rs 11 crore worldwide during its opening weekend, an impressive feat for a film without a major star in the lead.
The film performed strongly in the domestic market over its first three days, while its overseas run remained underwhelming. In North America, it grossed around $110K (approximately Rs 1.09 crore), with the bulk of its worldwide collections coming from India.
Following the initial negative response, the makers trimmed the film’s runtime. Originally released with a runtime of over three hours, “Nagabandham” is now being screened at around 2 hours and 45 minutes. Strong Sunday collections significantly boosted its opening weekend total.
Starring Virat Karna and Nabha Natesh, “Nagabandham” is directed by Abhishek Nama.
The film has already recovered a significant portion of its investment through its OTT deal with Amazon Prime Video and its satellite rights. It remains to be seen whether it can maintain momentum and sustain collections during the weekdays.
