Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Vikram’ featuring legendary actor Kamal Haasan in the lead is showing solid numbers in Hyderabad. Released along with Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’ on June 3rd, ‘Vikram’ could not get into many theaters in Hyderabad.
But the strong word of mouth helped the film register bigger collections from Monday. The film took lead over ‘Major’ from Monday. The Tuesday collections proved that ‘Vikram’ has complete dominance at the box office.
‘Major’ which collected big numbers in the first weekend has slowed down during weekdays. Even in the USA, ‘Vikram’ is garnering bigger numbers than the ‘Major’. ‘Vikram’ has achieved the $2 million mark. ‘Major’ may cross the $1 million mark in a day. Although Adivi Sesh’s film is holding well, the numbers for Kamal Haasan are solid.
‘Vikram’ is the latest action drama that worked big time at the ticket windows in recent times. Recent successes like ‘Pushpa’, ‘Akhanda’, ‘RRR’, and ‘KGF 2’ also had more action elements. Action coupled with gripping narration is bringing big bucks these days.
