Darshan Thoogudeepa, popularly known as Darshan, continues to remain in prison in connection with the sensational Renukaswamy murder case. Recent media reports claiming that the Kannada star attempted suicide in jail have now been officially denied by Karnataka prison authorities.
According to reports, Karnataka Director-General of Prisons and Correctional Services Alok Kumar dismissed the rumours as “completely baseless” and clarified that no such incident had taken place.
Prison officials reportedly stated that Darshan is doing fine in jail.
Darshan has been lodged in Bengaluru prison in connection with the 2024 murder case of Renukaswamy, who was said to be a fan of the actor. Investigators alleged that Renukaswamy was kidnapped and murdered by a group linked to Darshan after he reportedly sent inappropriate messages to the actor’s longtime partner, Pavithra Gowda.
