The makers of Prabhas starrer ‘Radhe Shyam’ recently had received a huge proposal from a streaming giant. The OTT offered a certain amount, which is more than what was offered to Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’, if the makers agree to release on their platforms, bypassing the theatrical route.
At one time, the producers thought of signing the deal. But the latest we hear is that the makers have now decided to release it in the theaters first. Now, that the lockdowns are being lifted in all the states in India and the business activity is expected to come to normal in the next two months.
So, the producers of ‘Radhe Shyam’ now want to wait for the theatrical release. There is also talk that the deal was not that lucrative considering the high costs involved in the production. The period tale of romance has Prabhas and Pooja Hegde as star-crossed lovers. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, ‘Radhey Shyam’ has been in the making since October 2018.
Due to production delays, the film’s budget got increased.
‘Radhe Shyam’ is a Pan-Indian project and it will be released in all five languages simultaneously. It was earlier scheduled for July 30, 2021 release. But the makers will wait for things to get back to normal. Dussera 2021 is one option they have for its theatrical release.
