Radhika to contest as a BJP candidate in Lok Sabha polls

Radhika Sarathkumar

Actresses such as Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Vijayashanti, and Sumalatha, who were the prominent actresses of the South Indian cinema industry in the 1980s, have already tried their hand at politics. Another actress, who played the female lead in numerous Telugu and Tamil blockbusters in the 1980s, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. We are talking about Radhika.

Radhika Sarathkumar is set to set contest for the Virudhunagar Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu. The Bharatiya Janata Party officially confirmed her name on Friday.

Sarath Kumar, Radhika’s husband, has merged his Akila Indiya Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) party with the BJP two weeks ago. As a result, the BJP allocated her the Virudhunagar seat.

The BJP has minimal influence in Tamil Nadu, but the party hopes to make a significant impact on state politics by gaining a few Lok Sabha seats this time.
