Superstar Rajinikanth’s recent outing ‘Peddhanna’ turned out to be a disaster in the Telugu states. Rajinikanth, who is the original Pan-Indian star from South India, has lost his pan-India market with a poor choice of scripts in the recent past.
Rajinikanth currently has a strong market in Tamilnadu only.
Until not long ago, his films garnered more than Rs 50 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Today getting a Rs 10 crore collection from the theaters in Telugu states has become a big task for him. Outdated films and stories like “Darbar”, “Kaala”, “Petta” and Peddhana” have killed the great superstar’s market here.
The 70-year-old actor is also grappling with many health issues. Will he retire from acting and lead a stressful life?
Rajinikanth has no such plans, say sources. He still wants to do some more films. His enthusiasm for acting is still intact.
