Prabhas is celebrating his 46th birthday today. One of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema, he enjoys unparalleled stardom and a massive fan following across the country. Interestingly, Prabhas remains the only top star in India to have announced multiple sequels to his blockbuster films, and to have more than four projects simultaneously in production.
With such a packed schedule, the actor has been constantly working without breaks.
However, his tendency to greenlight sequels to each successful film has led to confusion among directors and producers. Take, for instance, Salaar (2023). Its sequel has yet to begin shooting. As Prabhas moved on to other commitments, director Prashanth Neel started working on NTR’s upcoming film. Similarly, even after “Kalki 2898 AD” grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide, Prabhas has not yet allocated dates for its sequel.
This led many to believe that both “Kalki 2” and “Salaar 2” were shelved. Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from the “Kalki 2898 AD” franchise further fueled these doubts.
However, putting all speculation to rest, the makers of “Salaar 2” and “Kalki 2” marked Prabhas’s birthday with special posters and confirmed that the sequels are very much in progress. Both teams stated they “can’t wait to begin filming,” reaffirming that the projects are very much alive.
Currently, Prabhas is busy shooting for The Raja Saab and Fauji, and will soon begin work on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit.
