Senior film journalist and producer BA Raju is no more. He breathed his last on Friday (May 22) in Hyderabad. He was survived by two sons. His wife and director B Jaya passed away two years ago.
His family members said he died of cardiac arrest after complications related to diabetes.
B A Raju was an integral part of the Telugu film industry’s day-to-day business, trade, and activity. He was the founder and editor of the popular Telugu film magazine, Superhit. He also handled PR for hundreds of films in his long career spanning four decades. He had been a personal PRO for superstar Mahesh Babu. He had worked as PRO for many leading stars, production houses, technicians, and actresses. Prabhas, Nagarjuna, NTR, and other stars had used him as their PRO for many years.
He encouraged budding journalists and gave a platform to them through his magazine.
He also produced films like ‘Chantigadu’, ‘Premikulu’, ‘Gundamma Gaari Manavadu’, ‘Lovely’, ‘Savaal’, and ‘Vaishakam’.
His death comes as a huge shock to the entire Telugu film industry. May his soul rest in peace.
