Actor Sivaji recently found himself at the centre of a major controversy following his remarks on actresses’ dressing styles and a few abusive comments. The issue triggered widespread debate, with feminists, actresses, and netizens strongly condemning his statements, while a section of social media extended him support.
As the discourse dominated both mainstream and social media, the focus shifted away from the film he currently stars in.
Sivaji plays a key role in Dhandoraa, portraying a father to a son played by Nandu and a daughter played by Manika Sri. His performance has been well received, and the film has largely earned positive reviews, particularly for its core message. However, the ongoing controversy ended up eclipsing the film’s release and discussions around it.
Addressing the media, Sivaji urged them to focus on “Dhandoraa” rather than his personal controversy. Emphasizing the collective effort behind the film, he said the movie deserves attention and must reach a wider audience.
“People will be talking about Dhandoraa throughout 2026. It is a good film and a sincere effort. Every actor has put their heart and soul into it. Please don’t delve into my personal matters or the current controversy. I will handle that on my own. For now, promote this movie. If people continue talking about the controversy instead of the film, I will bear that blame,” Sivaji stated.
