Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s “Thandel” has given a shocking result in North America. The film now needs this weekend to post strong numbers.
The film grossed a whopping $400K+ on the first day and collected another $150K+ on the second day, giving hope that it will comfortably cross the $1 million mark in three or four days.
But the North American Telugu audiences didn’t show much interest in the film after the first two days. It has been struggling to add more money. By the end of the first week, the film grossed under $800k.
The film needs another $200K to reach $1 million. Current trends indicate that collecting $200k this second weekend will be a challenging task. Even if the film does collect, it may not break even.
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are a hit pair. Their previous film, “Love Story,” made good money in the USA. The songs are a hit. Still, it didn’t enthuse the Telugu audience in the USA.
