Tollywood bigwigs have a special request for Pawan Kalyan

Bheemla Nayak

It is an open secret that the Andhra Pradesh government has reduced ticket rates of cinema halls in the state early this year to settle scores with Pawan Kalyan. After months of pleading from the Telugu film industry bigwigs, the government showed a willingness to hike them just before the Dussera festival. But Pawan Kalyan’s outbursts against the state government at the event of the ‘Republic’ movie spoiled all these efforts.

The YS Jagan government has since stopped the plans of hiking ticket prices. There is still no clarity about the ticket rates. However, there are signals that the government will agree to the new proposals put forth by Tollywood makers and distributors again. The industry is hoping that a positive decision would come either before the release of ‘Pushpa’ or the Sankranthi festival.

Minister Kodali Nani is a close buddy to NTR, there is a possibility that he lobby for ticket rates for the ‘RRR’ movie. Once the government agrees to hike the rates for ‘RRR’, it will be applicable to all the movies. But if Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ will also release for Sankranthi, the YS Jagan government may not consider the decision. So, the industry bigwigs say Pawan Kalyan should postpone his movie to summer 2022.

The makers are insisting on the release date of ‘Bheemla Nayak’ as Jan 12, 2022.

If the government announces its decision in December, Pawan Kalyan can release the movie as he plans.
