Tollywood representatives on Monday met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his official residence in Tadepalli in Vijayawada.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, SS Rajamouli Dil Raju, Vijay Chander, Damodara Prasad, C Kalyan, PVP, and D Suresh Babu were chief among the Tollywood representatives who had a special meeting with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. During the meeting, the Tollywood representatives thanked Chief Minister for providing single window permission to the shootings in the state and also presented their ideas for the development of the Telugu film industry in the state.
The AP government has agreed to allow shootings in the state from July 15.
Responding positively to the industry’s demands, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister asked the officials to abolish the fixed power charges for cinema theaters as all these halls have shut their operations during the corona crisis. He also has agreed to look into the issue of allowing Flexi rates for tickets.
The representatives have agreed to set up studios and other production facilities in Vizag city if the government allots land. The government also agreed to provide lands to the housing plots for the celebrities who wish to settle in Vizag.
Strangely, the Tollywood representatives also urged the CM to hold the Nandi Awards ceremony which has been in pending for many years.
The Telugu film industry is currently operating from Hyderabad and the Jagan government is planning to develop strong infrastructure for the same industry in Vizag by providing incentives and lands to the Tollywood.
