Tuesday US BO: ‘War 2’ outperforms ‘Coolie’

Superstar Rajinikanth’s “Coolie” set the North American box office on fire with advance sales and a record-breaking opening weekend, crossing the $6 million mark. Notably, over $1.5 million came from its Telugu version alone.

However, the film has lost momentum after the weekend.

Starting Monday, “War 2” starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR began outperforming “Coolie.” On Monday, War 2 grossed $128k compared to Coolie’s $115k.

The real shocker came on Tuesday. Benefiting from discount deals, “War 2” pulled in over $300k, while Coolie managed only about $125k.

Despite heavy trolling and mixed reviews, “War 2” is holding its ground in North America.
