Last weekend, three new Telugu films competed with each other. Sudheer Babu and Krithi Shetty starrer ‘Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali’, Kiran Abbavaram’s ‘Nenu Meeku Baga Kavalsina Vaadini’, and Regina and Nivetha Thomas starrer ‘Saakini Daakini’ hit the theaters on September 16.
Despite the presence of popular faces in these three movies, audiences didn’t show interest to catch them in the theaters. No film saw growth in the entire weekend. All bit the dust.
Not only did the film sink without a trace in the domestic market, but the picture also remained the same overseas.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’ witnessed growth in Hyderabad and other places. The film’s Telugu version is now set to touch the Rs 20 crore mark net in AP and Telangana.
Sharwanand’s ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham’ also saw growth in collections over the weekend. The film has done better business in the USA. By the end of the second weekend, the film crossed the milestone of half a million dollars (500k dollars).
Gautam Menon directed Simbu starrer ‘The Life of Muthu’ won appreciation, but the collections are great to be noticed.
