A prolific actor, Krishna had created a record by releasing 17 movies in a single year. In 1972, 17 films starring Krishna as a lead hero got released. No other movie star has such a record in the world.

His debut film was Adurthi Subbarao’s ‘Tene Manasulu’. His 100th movie was ‘Alluri Sita Ramaraju’, a phenomenal success. His 200th film as an actor was ‘Eenadu’, which again did roaring business. However, EVV Satyanarayana directed ‘Telugu Veera Levara’, which was released amid high expectations as it was Krishna’s 300th movie, failed to create any wonders at the box office.

Known for introducing many technological firsts to the Telugu film industry, Krishna is considered a daring cine personality. First Eastman color film (Eenadu), the first cinemascope film (Alluri Seeta Rama Raju, the first 70mm film (Simhasanam), the first DTS film (Telugu Veera Levara (1995), the first cowboy film ( Mosagallaku Mosagadu), and the first James Bond movie (Gudachari 116) are credited to him.

After the iconic Malayalam actor prep Nazir, Krishna also holds the record of pairing up with the same actress in the highest number of films. He paired up with his second wife Vijayanirmala in 48 films and 47 films with Jayaprada. Prem Nazir and Sheela had acted together in about 130 movies, a world record.
