‘Amigos’ get low collections on the first weekend

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who had massive success with ‘Bimbisara’ last year, was unable to replicate that success with his latest film. Last weekend, the film ‘Amigos,’ starring Kalyan Ram in three roles, was released.

Despite good publicity, the film failed to generate hype. And ‘Amigos’ ended up being a dull action drama. Despite having an intriguing premise, the execution was mediocre. The film also did not receive any openings. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the film raked in less than Rs 5 crore in its first weekend. It will not add much to its kitty during the week.

The film made around $150k (Rs.1.2 crore) in the United States. ‘Amigos,’ directed by newcomer Rajendra Reddy and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, will be a huge flop.

Holdovers like ‘Writer Padmabhushan’ and ‘Waltair Veerayya’, on the other hand, took advantage and added some more money to kitty. ‘Pathaan,’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, is still doing very well in Hyderabad.
