The four movies that hit the screens during this Sankranthi season have done roaring business. They have also proved that the theatrical business is not going to die. Despite the emergence of OTT platforms and the pandemic situation, audiences have returned to the cinema halls.
‘Red’, ‘Krack’, and ‘Master’ have raked in stunning collections so far. Some films have done better business than pre-COVID19 conditions. This only proves to say that the audiences still prefer watching the movies in the theaters. But they are demanding better content, not the formulaic fare.
The filmmakers could not come up with better stories. Still, the audiences flocked the theaters.
The other takeaway from the Sankranthi 2021 is women and family audiences are still not stepping out for a movie watch.
