Weekend Box-office: Ghani gets a tepid response

Ghani

Released on April 8, Varun Tej’s boxing drama ‘Ghani’ received a tepid response from the audiences across the Telugu states and the USA. Varun Tej is known as a dependable star as his films get decent amounts of money. But ‘Ghani’ showed a different picture.

Directed by newcomer Kiran Kumar Korrapati, ‘Ghani’ was in the making for a long period and got postponed several times. The film’s songs could not entice the audience. All these factors can be attributed to such a low opening on the first weekend.

The film received just Rs 4 crore share in the Telugu states. The scene at the USA box office is no different either. The boxing drama collected merely 100k dollars (Rs 75 lakhs gross).

For Varun Tej, this is a shock. Such a low opening is a concern for all.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ continued its run with no strong opposition.
