Potti Veeraiah, best known for playing dwarf characters in many films that include ‘Jaganmohini’ and ‘Tatha Manavadu’, is no more. He died of a heart attack on Sunday in Hyderabad. He was 75. He was survived by two daughters.
Born as Gattu Veeraiah in 1947 in Phanigiri village in Nalgonda district, the actor came to prominence playing a dwarf in Vithalacharya’s fantasy movies. He had acted in nearly 500 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Some of his prominent films are ‘Jaganmohini’, ‘Yugandhar’, ‘Tatha Manavadu’, ‘Gaja Donga’, ‘Gola Nagamma’, and ‘Radhamma Pelli’.
