Raj Tarun became a male lead by accident. He was supposed to only write ‘Uyyala Jampala’, but ended up debuting as an actor. Since then, there has been no looking back for him. At a time when there was vacuum and a need was badly felt for rough-n-tough guys like Ravi Teja, this guy came as an answer.
As an aspiring director himself, he has a good sense of judgement. He picks stories with strong entertainment quotient. ‘Cinema Choopistha Mama’, which really raised his stature, was all about entertainment and nothing else.
‘Kittu Unnadu Jagratha’ too proved the same point. The busy actor’s second release this year is ‘Andhhagadu’, which is coming on June 2.
While his character is that of a blind man, the film is not at all dull and preachy. A fun-filled movie, it has all the masala ingredients. Once again, his heroine is the bubbly Hebbah Patel.
It has to be seen whether Raj Tarun will deliver another hit in a row (after ‘Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam’ and ‘KUJ’, it will be his hat-trick movie). But what is certain is that he is on the right track and is here to stay for a longer course. He may be blind on screen, but he is farsighted off screen.
